Projecto De Cuba
In this project we learned about a leader of the Cuban Revolution, Che Guevara and his role in the historical revolution of Cuba and other countries. We followed the life of Che and his mission. We then could choose between making a project of either finding a recipe and translating it in Spanish, or making a piece of "ironic" art. I choose the ironic art. I decided to Photoshop Che Guevara, Fidel Castro and Raul Castro on to three ballerina bodies. We were also asked to write commands.
La Casa en Mango Street
La Casa on En Mango Street was a small project, in the middle of the semester, based on the Spanish story "La Casa en Mango Street." In this project we had to read and translate the story then write our own, based off the story. Then we had to record ourselves reading our own story in both English and Spanish. Not unlike many people in my class, I had huge difficulties putting the recordings here on Weebly, but here is a small section of my story.
"Mi madre y yo luego nos trasladamos alto, a una casa amarilla de un amigo. No me gustó porque tenía que compartir la habitación con otra chica . Después de que mi madre cumple con mi padrastro , nos mudamos a la casa de mi padrastro."

Las Ramblas
In this project we wrote a biography in Spanish about a native Spanish speaker. We presented that biography and dressed as that person for an exhibition. I chose Paloma Herrera, who is Argentinian and dances professionally with American Ballet Theatre in New York City. We learned how to use the past tense in Spanish and how to make it sound correct. For me the exhibition went very well. I dressed in my favorite ballet leotard, a tutu, and even wore my pointe shoes (those things ballerinas wear to stand on their toes). I presented my PowerPoint then, and I showed my audience a video of Paloma dancing while I danced along (I even memorized the choreography). My audience enjoyed my dancing and the beauty of my PowerPoint
Cuento De Tu Niñez
This project was to teach us the preterit and imperfect in Spanish. We wrote a story from our childhood and story and had to include a picture. It is important to say the past tense in Spanish to be able to tell stories. Without learning these I couldn't hear or tell this story.
Me gusta esa película, todavía. Me hace feliz. El fin.

Proyecto de Un Dia
This project was about learning reflexive verbs in Spanish. We wrote about a day in the life of a character. I chose my favorite fictional villain, Voldemort. I choose Voldemort because I thought it would be funny and easy to write about because of my love of the book series, Harry Potter. Overall I think I did very well. My book's design is very simple and nice, which I enjoy in art. I tried to use humor in this project, which I very rarely do.
Reflexive verbs do not exist in the English language. That is one reason why English speakers have such a problem with them. Because we do not have an English example, we find it hard to apply to our Spanish knowledge.

Porque Statement
Quiero espanol porque quiero ser inteligente, y viajar espana.
Learning another language is crucial to being able to work around the world. Knowing another language breaks the barrier between people and places. I want to be able to communicate with as many people possible so I can help the world improve and grow. Being bilingual has also shown to help prevent alzheimer's and memory loss. Keeping your brain strong as long as you can, is good for your family and yourself. Memory loss is a very scary thing for everyone involved. I do not want to become a victim of it. Learning a second language does sound cool.
