ROCKET REFLECTION
Rocket
Reflection
Vivien Doucette
My rocket project was a bittersweet experience. It was very stressful, and fun to make the
rocket, but watching it explode was slightly disappointing to see, and cool. I
was glad to see all that stress blowup, and it was amusing to watch a rocket
explode, but I was sad that my rocket didn’t fly. If I could go back I would
really gluing my rocket better. The whole reason my rocket detonate was because
it couldn’t withstand the pressure. I would also give myself more time to create
the rocket. Some advice that I would give to the next class is to really work on
detail. Every ounce of weight counts, if you want your rocket to go as high as
it can. I would also advice that you should really make sure that every chamber
is glued really well. My group
worked fairly well. I worked with them and we all had certain roles that
contributed to the group. We did well getting things done.
Despite the fact that my rocket blew up, I’m still pretty proud of it.
When the top went off, the parachute deployed pretty well. It only went up 45
feet, but the parachute did deploy. My partners and I had to start from scratch
after the first one failed to fly. I was impressed and relived when we finished
early. When exhibition came around I was pretty excited. One thing I do wish I
had done was to prepare myself for my rocket to explode. I didn’t think that it
would explode.
